COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Public Forums and Workshops

The Center educates both immigrants and allies on pressing community issues. In addition to holding bi-monthly public forums featuring local immigrant and refugee speakers, the Center holds six-week long Refugee and Immigrant Solidarity Education (RISE) Workshops four times per year. Through RISE, participants work together across cultural lines to develop a thorough knowledge of the dynamics of immigration, political influences on immigration policy, and effective community organizing tactics.

Collaboration with Other Groups

When possible, the Center for Intercultural Organizing collaborates with other organizations to strengthen and support existing efforts to bring visibility to immigrant and refugee issues. The Center also participates in:
