Perspectives on Asylum
A Public Forum

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2004
6:30 to 8:00 PM at Portland State University
Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 229
SW Broadway and Montgomery

Perspectives on Asylum is a public forum intended to raise awareness of issues surrounding the American asylum system. As we begin a new presidential term, it is more important to understand our immigration laws, how they are changing, and what these laws mean to our local communities. The forum panel will consist of 3-4 speakers, which will include immigration lawyers, as well as individuals who sought asylum in America. Perspectives on Asylum encourages deliberation through an open forum of cooperative communication between audience members and speakers.
