PACIFIC ISLANDER AND PACIFIC AMERICAN LINKS

The Center for Intercultural Organizing is striving to compile a complete list of local multicultural organizations. To add your organization to this list, email stephanie@interculturalorganizing.org.

Aguman Capampangan Northwest USA
This is an association of Pampangans, or Kapampangan-speaking people, whose main goals are to establish their identity, promote their culture, develop friendships among themselves, and to help their compatriots back home. Pampangans or Pampanguenos are natives of the central plain of Luzon in the area around the former Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. The World Almanac lists Kapampangan as having over 2 million speakers worldwide. In the Portland-Vancouver area where this "mancomunidad" is based, there are about 300 Pampangans. As of now, the association, which is renown for the medical missions it sends to the Philippines, is an incorporated non-profit socio-civic organization.
