Reed
College Multicultural Resource Center
The MRC is a hub of student activity. One night there may
be a meeting of Chaverim (Reed’s Jewish student group), the
next night we might be sponsoring a group discussion on gay
rights and the Supreme Court, and that weekend we may host
a group trip to see a movie like “Better Luck Tomorrow.” Our
center serves a variety of functions… be it a place to check
out great books on multiculturalism, a comfortable meeting
space, or a place to hang out. While our mission is to provide
a safe space for students of color, ultimately we are for
all students. At Reed, we all come from diverse walks of life
to build a community at Reed. And indeed, that’s what the
MRC is all about… building a little bit of familia in the
middle of it all.
